A little about me:

​

My name is Lucy and I own and run Ministry of Hound Grooming in Walmer, Deal.

I've loved animals all my life and have had the privilege of owning dogs, cats and horses over the past 5 decades. My childhood dream of working with dogs was put aside and I trained and qualified as a Counsellor and an Equine Assisted Therapist. But I could never quite be satisfied or happy in the therapy profession and yearned for the company of animals (because let's face it, they're much nicer than humans!)

In 2002 (whilst still working as a therapist) I studied Dog Training and Behaviour and went on to offer Dog Walking and Pet Sitting in the Deal and local areas.

I continued to follow my dreams of working with animals and stepped up my game and qualified as a Dog Groomer in 2003

 Ministry of Hound Grooming (originally known as Doctor Dog Wash) has been well known and loved in Deal and then in Australia 2012-2022 on the Gold Coast and Western Australia with several very successful and popular salons opened over the years. 

​

I take great pride in every groom and will always work with the dog's welfare in mind, taking as long as they need to ensure a happy, relaxed and beautiful pup.

I love my job and am always striving to keep up with current trends and with the ever growing popularity of Doodles - labradoodles, Cavipoo's, cockapoos, golden doodles, maltipoos and all the poodle mixes I offer creative and low maintenance styles 

​

I am a true believer that part of my job is to help to educate and guide dog owners to be able to maintain their dog's coat between grooms and this is why I offer a non judgemental and informative grooming service, based upon dog's welfare and owners needs and requests.
